Barcelona Women, Champions League Final vs Arsenal on May 24

Without a doubt, the section that has brought the most joy to the club in recent years is the Women’s Football team. Led by Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí — both Ballon d’Or winners — they have won numerous titles. They’ve claimed six consecutive league titles, some of them without losing a single match, clearly dominating over the rest.

But where they stand out the most is in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where they’ve won three European Cups in the last four years — including two back-to-back — and this Saturday, they could win their third in a row.

Facing Arsenal and Former Teammate Mariona

A key player for Barcelona and the Spanish national team in recent years, Mariona Caldentey, left this season in search of new challenges and joined Arsenal, where she’s helped lead the team to the final — including knocking out Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.

So it will be an emotional moment to play against her and see if Barça can win their fourth Women’s Champions League title in a season where they’ve already won everything else (having recently secured the league title), while awaiting the Copa de la Reina final on June 7 against Atlético de Madrid.

Update 23/05/2025: The definitive squad of 23 players is as follows: Gemma, Paredes, María León, Jana, Paralluelo, Marta, Pina, Graham, Alexia, Patri, Cata Coll, Aitana, Rolfö, Pajor, Vicky, O. Batlle, Engen, Brugts, Roebuck, Caño, Schertenleib, C. Serrajordi and Judit.
