FC Barcelona’s 2025 Summer Asian Tour: Japan and South Korea

The 2024/2025 season has come to an end with a 3–0 win over Athletic Club, and now the players and coaching staff are heading off for a well-deserved break.

But as always, Barça fans are hungry for more football and can’t wait for the next match—for preseason to begin. As of now, nothing has been officially confirmed or announced, but all signs point to an Asian tour featuring three matches. There may also be additional preseason friendlies in other countries.

Since Barça won’t be playing in the Club World Cup (nor in the Champions League Final, which takes place this Saturday), the players will have a slightly longer summer break. However, some will still be in action with their national teams—such as those involved in the UEFA Nations League Final Four, which includes Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany.

The players are expected to return to training around the second week of July, with the coaching staff likely reporting back a week earlier.

There is speculation about a possible preseason match in Morocco before the team heads to Asia.

    Three Matches in Asia

Barcelona will travel to Japan and South Korea for the tour. The team is expected to play the following three matches:

    • Preseason Match 1: July 27 vs. Vissel Kobe in Japan (the former club of Andrés Iniesta and Sergi Samper) – Kickoff at 7:00 PM local time (1:00 PM in Spain).
    • Preseason Match 2: July 31 in Seoul (South Korea) vs. FC Seoul – Kickoff at 8:00 PM local time (2:00 PM in Spain).
    • Preseason Match 3: August 4 in Daegu (South Korea) vs. Daegu FC – Kickoff time to be confirmed.

    The Gamper Trophy

Upon returning, FC Barcelona will play the Joan Gamper Trophy match on either Saturday, August 9 or Sunday, August 10. This match is expected to be the very first at the new Camp Nou, serving as the final test to confirm the stadium’s readiness for the 2025/2026 season.
