The good news keeps coming at Barça. One of the key architects behind this remarkable season, head coach Hansi Flick, has just renewed his contract with FC Barcelona until June 30, 2027.
The signing took place at the Club’s offices in an event attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafa Yuste, and sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco,” among others.

A Memorable First Year
Hansi Flick has won over Barcelona fans in his debut season. Thanks to the attitude he has instilled in the team, unforgettable goals, epic comebacks, and titles. Tangible achievements that go hand-in-hand with intangible ones—namely, the excitement and hope he has brought. In just one year on the bench, he has turned FC Barcelona into one of the most feared sides in Europe.
It all started on a positive note back on August 18 at Mestalla. That win opened the floodgates to many more victories under Flick, as well as thrilling comebacks. In that very first game, the culers turned around a losing scoreline to claim victory. The never-give-up attitude has been a hallmark of this season. Flick’s Barça has come from behind to win nine times.

Flick’s Numbers at Barcelona
He has achieved a 73% win rate in his first season—43 wins from 54 matches. Only Luis Enrique’s Barça did better in a debut season, with 83%. Flick did it while managing a very young squad, leading them to a domestic treble: La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
He also won two finals against eternal rivals Real Madrid, both in the Super Cup and Copa del Rey finals—plus both league Clásicos (and even the preseason Clásico in the U.S.). In fact, Flick has never lost a final, having won five with Bayern Munich and now two with FC Barcelona.
A domestic double in his first season as Barça coach is a feat only four other managers have achieved in the Club’s 125-year history: Van Gaal, Ernesto Valverde, Pep Guardiola, and Luis Enrique.
